Designs in my university

It has been a half year since I started learning at IOE.
Yesterday, I had a short walking tour around our university in my class and took some pictures of what I found interesting.

First, we went to the building Institute of Education
This is my main building of study, but I found many new interesting things.

many spiral designs

I found many spirals in the building

Then we’ve moved to UCL building.

Learning design: Jeremy Bentham

At the South Cloisters, we can meet Jeremy Bentham, a famous philosopher.
He was, and still really influential person at UCL.

He promoted the popularisation of the university.
At that time, the university was boarding school as Cambridge and Oxford, and only affluent people could access to universities. Bentham believed universities should be more reasonable and open to many people.
So UCL is in the central area in London (easy to access, not needed the boarding house)
Who was Jeremy Bentham?

And now he is sitting as an auto-icon. We can talk with him.

And while watching Bentham, we found this note…

We’re being watched by Bentham. And we can listen to what he was listening on this page(soundcroud).
